Plastic is mostly manufactured from petroleum. An essential manufacturing step converts petroleum into a material unrecognizable by the organisms that normally break organic matter down. This makes petroleum-derived plastic non-biodegradable. As humans, we have been entrusted with catering to our environment. If we don’t take the steps to protect our surroundings, we will create a polluted world for posterity.
On this page we will talk about:
WHAT IS RECYCLING?
Recycling is the process of collecting and processing materials that would otherwise be
termed as trash and turning them into new usable products.
WHY SHOULD WE RECYCLE PLASTIC PRODUCTS?
● Reduces the amount of non-decomposable waste in landfills.
● Prevents pollution by reducing the number of impurities in our water bodies.
● It is good for the environment, energy-saving, health of wildlife and humans alike.
● It prevents incinerating plastic and hence cuts down on greenhouse gas emissions.
● Helps create jobs in the recycling and manufacturing industries.
WHY IS RECYCLING IMPORTANT TO 4EVAPACKJD?
4evapackJD produces a lot of plastic products. We, therefore, have a responsibility to ensure our community and our environment is protected against pollution. Recycling is
beneficial to society in more ways than one. Read: Why should we recycle plastic
Sustainability is one of the core values of 4evapackJD. To ensure a sustainable future,
we reduce the impact of our disposable plastic products by recycling our bottles and
cutting down on greenhouse gas emissions.
Our plastic products are repurposed into countless purposeful products instead of being thrown away as trash and landing in our landfills.
Our recycled products create employment in the manufacturing and recycling industry.
HOW DOES 4EVAPACKJD RECYCLE?
Our recycling includes three steps.
Step 1: Collection and Processing
We collect recyclables in many ways, including curbside collection, drop-off centres, and deposit or refund programs. After collection, our recyclables are sent to a recovery facility where it is sorted, cleaned and processed into materials that can be used in manufacturing.
Step 2: Manufacturing
Our products are then manufactured with recycled content. Examples of such recycled materials include:
● Newspapers and paper towels.
● Aluminium, plastic, and glass soft drink containers.
● Steel cans.
● Plastic laundry detergent bottles.
Recycled materials are also repurposed in different ways examples being; recovered
glass in asphalt to pave roads or recovered plastic in carpeting and park benches.
Purchasing New Products Made from Recycled Materials You help us end the recycling process by buying new products made from our recycled materials.
